About the artist
Barbara Weir was born in Utopia to the late Minnie Pwerle and was raised by her aunt, the renowned Emily Kame Kngwarreye. Taken from her family at the age of 9 as part of the Stolen Generation, Barbara later reunited with her family in her 20’s, reconnecting with her language and culture and emerging as a celebrated artist.
