Mrs Trancollino was born at Bedford Downs Station near Halls Creek in 1937, growing up at the station. Every day, she and her family would go hunting to gather food. When her children were at school, she was influential in setting up the Kimberley Language Resource Centre where she was involved in language projects and published Kidja language books. She also helped set up the Halls Creek women’s shelter and Yarliyil Art Centre. Her paintings proudly tell of her country and stories of when she was young. She combines tradition and humour in telling her stories .

Yarliyil Art Centre, Halls Creek is located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Yarliyil Artists work across a range of styles and mediums, representing the rich culture of the land, its history & the people. The main language groups of Yarliyil Artists are Jaru, Kidja & Walmajarri.
