Aboriginal women of the Groote Eylandt Archipelago use native foliage and clays, as well as other materials to make this Mawilyaburna Cleansing Bush Medicine soap, which is traditionally used to soothe coughs and colds, muscle pain, headaches and stress.
They pick Mawilyaburna leaves from swampy areas and use them in our balms and soaps. and add the citrus aroma of Lemon Essential Oil, known for it skin rejuvenating and mind calming qualities.
About the Makers
We are Warnindilyakwa women of the Groote Eylandt Archipelago and speak our own language, Anindilyakwa. We hunt bush tucker and bush medicine and are proud of our culture. We use native produce as well as other materials to make our range of body products in our small not-for-profit indigenous enterprise and our sales support our business to grow stronger, for our women, our culture and our communities.
